In Dominican Welcome to America Show = Prostitutes (I can only imagine what kind of spam comments this will get me)
So as you may know, I’m in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic on vacation with my family (normal vacation photos to follow)….
At the resort they have nightly shows that typically have some sort of theme… the theme last night?
Welcome to America!
Awesome. I love America. I live in America. I am almost American (I have a green card).
It is also somewhat ironic that people (primarily from Canada and the US) are seeing an American themed show while on vacation…. anywho…
The theme of the Welcome to America show?
Prostitution.
Seriously, I wouldn’t make this up.
OK, the first song was the Titanic song “My Heart Will go on”. That song kind of doesn’t count because 1) it is terrible and 2) it is sung by a Canadian (sweet, sweet Celine Dion).
Next up?
She works hard to her Money. by Donna Summers
Clearly a song about prostitution. If you weren’t sure, see the picture below.
In case you are not convinced, here are some lyrics:
“I met her there in the corner stand
And wonders where she is…..
And she’s looking real pretty
She’s waiting for her clientele”
The Next song?
Roxanne
Clearly a song about prostitution, but in case you don’t remember:
“Roxanne, you dont have to put on the red light
Those days are over
You dont have to sell your body to the night
Roxanne, you dont have to wear that dress tonight
Walk the streets for money
You dont care if its wrong or if its right”
Haha
The Moral of the story?
In the Dominican Republic, “Welcome to America” means welcome to prostitution. I nearly died laughing.
